I have the trimmer. I've been using it to basically mow all my yards. I refuse to buy a mower and I don't water so I wait till the weeds get to 20" and then get to whacking. A 5amp battery will do...

I got this a while back at home depot. String trimmer is perfectly powerful for residential use cleaning up the edges left after mowing. I wouldn't try it for trimming along a ditch or knocking down...

Can someone tell me how these compare to the DeWalt 18v tools? I tried a few string trimmers in the store at HD, and I liked how the Makita one felt in my hands. Was really light too.

I have really no idea but considering a lot of trimmers are 40-50-60 volts is this thing under powered at 18 volts? My dad loves the 56 volt ego I bought him a couple years ago.

Bought this combo 6 weeks ago for around $300, time fit a price adjustment in my purchase.. Use the blower most and love it. Eats batteries though.
