On the contrary to others, I own one of these for over 7 years now for my kid's room. I also later bought a dohm when 2nd kid was born. This one performs about the same as dohm, and slightly louder.

I do the same thing. I also attach my white noise machines to cheap home automated power switches so that they can turn off (via IFTTT) when I’m not in the room.

Just white noise. It’s a mechanical fan, not a speaker (which is a good thing!). But that means it doesn’t do pink noise or ocean sounds or whatever.

Agreed, I have 2 dohms from 2005 and they are still going. Every few years you need to do some maint on them. If you oil them make it dry oil otherwise it will make it worse and fuzz etc will stick...
