Are these still loud? I have a 1st Gen GE in my basement and you can hear the heat pump....also makes the basement cooler which helps in summer but makes the space cooler in winter...

I'm not sure the federal credit is still in effect. Regardless, I bought the 80 gallon version in January and I'm happy with it (old water heater crapped out, so it wasn't much of a choice)....
