You could probably use a hair dryer on high. It just needs to bend a little near the screws so the top will clear.

How hot did you have to heat it? I don't have a heat gun and the one I picked up bumps the dust guard as well. Other than that, it seems fine, but it would be nice to bend it out a little bit.
