For many games, yes. But for Alyx you will need to use a cable to connect it to your PC and run it from there. So your PC must be good enough to run the VR and Alyx.

I was truly surprised how well it would work. I have 200mbps internet and hardwired my pc to the router and it works very well. Obviously other people’s results may vary.

I assume OP wanted to say you can play Rift games on the Quest by using Link and save some money since Rift games are often cheaper than Quest variants.
