Just an update: I had gotten on this deal. The metal on the French press lid and the frame (that holds the container) sucks -- I'm starting to see little spots of what seems like rust on the frame...

The grinder is actually a cheapo copy of porlex-like grinders. Cheap, sloppy, soft parts. Broke on second day. The press is good!

Maybe, but I still say try both ways first if you can. If the drill method produces the same grind quality or close enough, use the drill if you like.

It does work with most manual grinders. It may shorten the life of the grinder, and the grind isn't always as good. Try doing it by hand first, then try the drill. If you're satisfied with the drill...

Agreed. I get the 'bloom' use, but it's just not my thing. I just go full pour and let sit for 4 minutes. People should be wary about letting it sit longer than that. French pressing coffee leaves...
