This is not the best design. The upper (and maybe lower, pics don't show) crushing surface is smooth. Crushers work best when both surfaces are spiked.

It depends, but it isn't my first choice. Unfortunately I've never been able to swallow pills so I crush some meds twice a day and take others as gummies, chewables, liquids, etc.

Because some medicines don't come in liquid form. Cancer patients like my wife sometimes have a hard time swallowing pills whole, so crushing them is the only way to get them down.

No they wouldn’t. Unless you have a prescription and a medical reason documented. They will crush and put into another dosage form however, again, with a prescription.
