12000 BTU heating is equal to over 3500 Watts. Since a regular 120V outlet can only deliver about 1800W max, it has to be a heat pump.
The air conditioners that claim a much smaller heat output...

I have a single hose in my bedroom and it cools well. Haven't noticed any dust. Pretty happy with it, way nicer than dealing a window unit. Maybe I installed it wrong or something?

So efficiency is the only issue then? It's more efficient than a window unit. It cools well. Not sure why people rag on then so much. It's an AC and it keeps the room cool, that's all I care about.
