Seems like a good deal, but just FYI these are the regular non-Fuel brushless tools. The Milwaukee FUEL models have the higher end powerstate motors.

Decent price for a weekend warrior. But I'd recommend the surge driver, it's awesome.

These impact drivers are the ones I can use to loosen/tighten lug nuts for tires and wheels on a car, yes? Then I just throw in a torque wrench for good measure, and I have my own DIY tire rotation...

If the only people who bought a surge impact driver were people who actually need one, Milwaukee would consider it a failure and would probably take it out of production. Most people reading this...

If your lugnuts are torqued to spec then this one SHOULD be able to get them off. It did for my SUV up to about 120 ft lbs. If they are overtorqued you'll have to break them loose first. If you...

That is true but not everyone does only car work. I for instance do about an even amount of car work and wood work where I need to both drive screws and drive nuts and bolts and an impact driver such...

Like I said, if you're regularly rotating tires and torqueing to spec, this will probably work just fine. I just wouldn't expect it to to take off any lugs that have been sitting for a long time...

This impact driver is rated at 133 ft.-lbs. But irregardless of the numbers, success using impact drivers on lug nuts is highly YMMV. In the real world, the torque required to remove lug nuts is...

Yes, it's $250 as a bare tool not on sale, but no one pays that much. It's been down to $299 with a drill, 2 batteries and a case. If cost is an issue, there's the m12 surge or a reconditioned M18....

This is basically a waste of money Gen1 brushless. Spend the extra and get the Gen2 or Gen3 FUEL. EDIT: before someone says "but it has a battery", it's also a non-XC battery that is old. Still...

This is a weird one. On one hand it's a good deal. On the other hand, it's a good deal for a tool that really has no place. Stick with the 3/8 or 1/2. If you need 1/4, go with the m12.

Isn't surge much quieter? Like, a hell of a lot quieter? That's the primary reason I want to pick one up, I don't always wrap my projects before night time sound limits hit.

The Surge is quieter, less vibration, heavier, and very smooth trigger control. It sounds like a drill vs an impact.
