So electric kettles are great, but I'd like to advocate for a stovetop kettle here for a sec. Yes- it is slightly slower, but a lot cheaper, no electronics to break, same end result.

The main purpose of these is for pourovers. You can control the where and the volume more easily. With other spouts, you'll pour too much or it'll drip down the sides because you're pouring too slow....
