you wont get reception; but your GPS will work. your GPS always works. theoretically with free offline maps you should be able to always figure out where you are with your phone. these are nice...

Incorrect information. You download the maps on your phone for plenty of app options and they work without without signal. That's a non issue. The biggest drawback to phones compared to this battery...

I carry the basic version of this when I go hiking. It runs off two AA and the batteries last for days if you need.
