No. It has nothing to do with the cable. It is the HDMI port on your computer. If it is HDMI 2.0, you will get 4k@60hz.

Ordered one to give it a try. I'm a little concerned with 4k in 28" vs 32...but 32's usually seem a good bit more. I love my dell monitors but the bang for the buck with this monitor is great!

I have been using Acer 32in 4K IPS 60z for years was 1000 on sale then (6 years ago), I am yet to see newer models with better specs in this size, it is great though for both single player 4k gaming...
