While it is not stated on the product page or in the documentation I can pretty much assure you these speakers are "infinite baffle" design, which means they are designed to go right in an open wall...

Lepai LP-2020TI is $30 at parts express. It's only 20W RMS but its good for a garage. I have one in my garage and it works great! No Wifi, but bluetooth.

Yeah looks like you would need to put these in ceiling or 2x6 walls. Looks like the 6.5" small size would barely fit in 2x4 walls as long as no insulation/exterior wall.

No For outside use a speaker needs a waterproof and UV resistant coating. These would be fine outside until the first rain, and even outside of direct rain the dew would wreck them over a summer....
