I already owned Expect You To Die but picked up the Starter Pack without any hesitation (as it adjusted to $33). Eleven Table Tennis is something I was already hoping would show up in the sale. ...

Great idea about cross platform. In Rift Store: Eleven Table Tennis is 14.99 25% ( In quest it is part of the pack with 23% off ) Fruit Ninja is 10.49 30% (as oppose to no sale in quest store)...

First: the Quest is only meant to play in-headset games. Near-perfect vendor lock in, so the titles rarely/never go on sale. There is a PC program/website called SideQuest which will allow you to...

No, any usb cable will work. Including the one it comes with.

I'm not sure how old the review is, but it has already happened. The official version does *not* include streaming. However, by creating a "developer" account and installing (free) SideQuest you can...

You need this for VR porn.

I've never once seen a good price on the Quest side of the store. I use mine almost exclusively for wireless PC gaming, it's convenient if you have no other VR options, sure, but dang they're high.

So, uh, which other fully-wireless HMD would you recommend right now, or in the near future? I'm guessing that you'll be in line to buy the Apple AR, since that will undoubtedly be a fully open...

There are some titles that are cross buy that are in quest but not in rift sale and vise versa. For me, it meant robo recall is 22.50 on the quest and $30 on rift, and fruit ninja $15 on quest while...

Oculus Quest has the most underwhelming sales of any console I have ever owned. It's weird because the Rift can have decent ones so, like others have mentioned, cross buy is the way to go when...

That's the thing...specifically for Thumper, if you look at them, the quest says quest only and the rift says rift. Gun ClubVR on the other hand, lists both

I've had a CV1 Rift for 2 and a half years and I don't think I've ever seen a worthwhile RIft Games sale. I get most of mine from Humble Bundles and Steam.

If you have a cable which one is best? Oculus Link Headset Cable or another?

I'm not sure what the benefits would be for the Rift. You can browse your Windows desktop in 3D I guess. For the quest it lets you wirelessly tether to your PC to play Steam VR games.

You can play Steam VR games through Virtual Desktop. This greatly expands the Quest's usefulness.

This is wrong. You need a USB 3.1 cable, or official cable, to play wired Rift games.

Before you buy virtual desktop to try and play steam games wirelessly, give ALVR a try - it’s free and on sidequest

The lastest update changed that so that a USB 2 cable was sufficient - 480Mbps is all that's required. I've not tried it, personally.

Oh, that's interesting. I hadn't heard that. Since power specs are lower on USB 2 I wonder if they will be able to provide enough power to charge and play.
Post #137459015 added 05-26-2020 5:27 AM by overzeetop in Deal Talk
I'm not sure - it could be that the update is for PD (18W) capable USB C cables, but those that only pass USB 2 data rates (480Mbps). I've got a few charging cables like that, and the bundled Quest...
