Try eBay for mhxpro bhq2. With some patience, you can get it under $80 used or $100 new. This is mostly for digital still images. If you want to play with video then try the fluid head instead.

Keep in mind you are looking at about an 11 lbs load capacity on the carbon fiber. And around 8 lbs on the aluminum.

I have compact CF tripods with both twists and levers. The lever tripods are almost always my go-to if I'm taking pictures of other people. The twists just get cumbersome to keep changing height...
