Yes if you're doing a big demo. I prefer to use my multitool with 180 blade for most smaller jobs around the house.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cleanly" but I use a reciprocating saw to cut PVC all the time. Here's a tip: Use a "metal" blade and you'll get cleaner cuts.
