You may have gotten a lemon. It has a 3yr warranty if bought new. Have you tried calling Ryobi? I've used mine several times. No problem so far.

I still use this one from decade deal ago. its good for small inflatable toys/rafters , the gauge are worthless, the trigger are happy and will pressed if you leave them in the back trunk every time....
