Ive done this by using the ball inflator needle that comes with it. Not electronics but used it to blow crap out of a spark plug tube before pulling the plugs. Its sufficient but not great.

I still use this one from decade deal ago. its good for small inflatable toys/rafters , the gauge are worthless, the trigger are happy and will pressed if you leave them in the back trunk every time....

I've used mine at least 200 times - probably 3-4 years. If you have kids this thing is great for bike tires, pool inflatables, basketballs etc. Works great and no issues other than it's pretty loud.

Let me help, he could have bought 6 Ryobi, saved another $10 and whatever sales tax difference. Even if everyone broke after 5 uses he would still have gotten 30 uses out of them just to break even....
