I've been using this for a while, I'm a huge fan of it. It's expensive, but I went through another lamp that was terrible, Try the cheap one if you can return it for free, maybe it will work for you....

I have one, It's only good if you keep your monitor about 20 inches or less from the edge of your desk, it's illumination range from the screen toward you isn't that much.

Actually it raises the black level around your monitor so you can’t see how shit your monitor actually is. It raises the perceived contrast level and lets you see your keyboard without glare.
