Unless you really need a printer, I would pass on this. A wifi version of this printer was on sale for 70$ recently. It's so much more convenient to be able to print from basically any device.

Not a noob question at all. Your printer needs to have printer server functionality. It will say so on the features or specs. Most cheap routers don't have that functionality unless you flash them...
