That entirely depends on number / requirements of the containers you're looking to run. Also, RAM for these units is upgradeable, and pretty cheap. Paid less than $20 for 2 x 4GB sticks on EBay.

They are not. For the money you get a lot of value. The greater cost factor is what drives you are going to add to them. I went with WD Red Pros that cost more than the chassis.
