I have an old i5 that had 12, went to 16 and it was a massive positive difference. Regardless of CPU I can't imagine how 8 is is a good decision.

The CPU will support 64GB according to the AMD product page. I couldn't find max ram specs on the laptop itself. So, the motherboard may not support 64GB.
