Not sure how serious claims are about the risk of inhaling the sunscreen (make sure to keep away from your face), but lotion seems like a better choice overall.

My advice... Always lotion first and then keep spray for when you reapply. Especially when around sand. Lotion is better and cheaper and provides many more applications, but spray has it's benefits...
