I've had trouble with using a chimney and newspaper. It's not 100% reliable means of starting the charcoal. Chimney and electric starter always works, and no worry about running out of or losing...

I use them like this sometimes. You don't have to spend money on starter cubes or deal with lighting paper towels, newspapers, etc. in a chimney starter. You can leave the coil heater in the...

if you have the chimney already, you need to ditch the news paper and get the cube I mentioned above. 1 cube - pain free grilling - 100% works all the time.

With a chimney you just need a piece of paper to get it started. No need for this, its not going to make things faster or easier or less expensive.

I guess what I was also getting at was that with the electric starter you don't have to rely on any consumables. If electricity access is an issue then sure I'd consider something else.

Um, you don't have to fill the chimney all the way up, just don't flip it over and put the same amount of charcoal that you put in when you flip it over. I am honestly not following your logic.
