If youre going to use this for Retropie, old school game emulation, you dont need the 8gb ram variant. The 2gb version is good for emulation.

Lately I've been using the Sakaki 64-bit Gentoo Image on my Raspberry Pi 4/4GB. It's notably snappier than 32-bit Raspbian was, and I really like the Xfce desktop environment much better than that...

I hate a whooping 8GB of RAM. The RAM keeps screaming 'Whoop!' all night and keeps me up. I prefer that one with a whopping 8GB.

More RAM the better for your NAS, but the Pi Hole runs fine on my 2gb version. I've read people putting Pi Hole on the Zero, so it must not require too much resources
