Are the guards cheap and flimsy? I understand it's plastic but my cheaper set years ago had great sturdy guides. My newer one is flimsy and cuts and leaves streaks in the hair.

I have the wahl clippers with the color guards. It's cheaper than this set and they aren't flimsy. Can't speak to this set, but I doubt they are based on my experience with wahl clippers
