There are too many variations of Purex. Some say dirt lift, some say clorox stain fighting and so on. Basic purex is the worst and cheapest stuff and basically does nothing. Also comments and reviews...

Try the free & clear purex, not the regular purex. Every detergent needs to use some sort of "cleaning" chemical to get clothes clean, so the very sensitive will need to try different detergents...

Persil does a better job keeping clothes softer and smelling nice for most washes, but interestingly, I've found purex free to do better at deodorant stains and odor.
