Material and quality is definitely better from Apple. I wouldn't say it's drastic or extreme but I'm happy to buy Apple brand when they drop below $30. Just got one last month for $25 via Amazon...

The quality is actually better, particularly with the “rubber” straps, which aren’t even rubber when they come from Apple. It’s some other rubber like material.

It’s called fluoroelastomer and yes it’s more durable that silicone that you find in the cheap bands. They both look great for about the first week, then the cheap ones lose their coating and start...

The 42 and 44 are interchangeable as are 38 and 40. You can't interchange the smaller ones with the larger ones, however (40 won't work with a 42 or 44 watch, for example).
