I like the design as well, but why the h@ck would a manufacturer solder the RAM so you can't upgrade? Probably because the manufacturer used a cheap motherboard that can't handle more RAM.

It seems apart from the different processor, Flex 5 has 16gb ram and the pen is included. This one is 8gb and no pen but brighter and lighter does Best buy charge restocking fee?

I think they use a cheap motherboard and max out the RAM to create a disposable laptop that needs replacing every 5 years or so. It's the Apple iPhone, iPad, etc model. Solid build quality, good...

I wish they didn't do it either, but more and more laptops are going this way, especially 2-in-1's and ultraportables, if you eliminate a laptop for soldered RAM your choices are pretty limited.

I would take this over the Flex. Nicer build quality (mostly metal instead of plastic on the Flex), lighter, brighter screen. The Flex's Ryzen 4000 should be faster, but this is not a difference...
