Yes, the box is the electrical junction box where the 120V line is converted to low voltage for the light. Every light will have one.

I saw that after I posted. Does that box get mounted to a joist or just tucked in with the insulation of the attic? These seem like they wouldn't work to well in slanted ceilings because the box...

bought these at menards for a few bucks cheaper (different brand but identical housing and features). Super easy to install. All you need is a wire coming to it and cut a round hole. Leave the...

I also have a bunch of these. I installed some myself, and when we had recessed lighting put in, the electrician put these in. Highly recommend.

Suitable for wet locations. With the narrow design and remote driver box, the Wafer LED can be installed in confined, hard to reach spaces such as outside soffits I think I am going to try some in...

I have a bunch of the 8" round ones in my finished basement (although they have the white finish). Replaced old flourescent lighting with these in a dropped ceiling. Have had them for about two years...

Does each light require the control box to be left in the ceiling also?

Manufacturer's product page here with lots of performance and design specs. Brightness is 1580-1850 lumens depending on color temperature (3000K > 3500K > 2700K for the warm model, 4000K > 5000K >...

The ones I attached to soffit could either be screwed in or left loose. I left loose but tacked the wire down so it's not going anywhere.

There are a bunch of different models here, but I just pulled the spec sheet from Lithonia's web site, 1 model puts out 1620 lumens at the 3000 kelvin setting. By way of comparison, I just bought...

How long do these wafers last in years? Are they easy for someone to replace? It seems overly complicated unlike replacing a traditional bulb.
