Their student discount only applies on the full price (without discounts and such). The price on the WD website is already discounted, so the student discount won't apply! I tried that and was bummed...

External. You can only put a 2.5" drive up to 2TB inside a PS4. I get faster speeds on this then the stock drive and the 2.5" firecuda drive inside the PS4.

Bought this one on March 3rd for $92 for my Xbox One S. Great performant drive. No issues so far. Only disadvantage: you'll buy a ton of games that you will never play.

No it cannot. It's a thicker drive because there is one additional platter in there if I remember correctly. The 2TB version has a "traditional" thickness.

Depends on the laptop. I have an Acer Predator 17 and I was able to shuck a 5TB seagate drive and use it in there, just had to ditch the drive caddy and use a bit of thin foam tape to install it...

The Xbox version will work with PS4 and PC as well. From what I remember, you get 3 months of Xbox Game Pass included with the Xbox version (that's a $30 value if you don't already have Game Pass).
