Did you monitor the temperature? Perhaps try a better cooling solution? Just saying if it is crashing without overclocking then chances are something is not quite within tolerance.

I run mine with a very slight overclock (4ghz) and no crashing. Pushed it a lot higher but pulled back for a daily driver speed to keep it cooler. If you're having this problem I feel for you but...
