Make sure if you get two varieties that flower at appx the same time or they won't properly cross pollinate (or crab apples nearby). I wouldn't really recommend bare root trees in mid-June though,...

It would depend on the exact varieties of apple on the tree but generally yes they aim to have varieties that will pollinate each other making the tree effectively self pollinating.

These do great in grow bags. Put them in a 20 gallon root pouch and prune them back in summer and you will end up with a 4 foot x 4 foot producing dwarf tree.

Fruit trees are high maintenance. Apples will get worms. Pears have soft skin and bugs and critters love them. Same with peaches and other stone fruit. I recommend sticking with lemons and tomatoes...
