OLED is worth it no matter what your source content. Everything from VHS tapes to 4k HDR10 content is better because of the pure black contrast. Choosing anything other than OLED is purely an...

This must be the dumbest post I've ever seen for a TV.... You get an award for that.

So un-encoded DTS can't pass from the TV (whether from a video app on the TV like Netflix or from something plugged into the TV's hdmi sockets like a ps5) to the receiver via eARC and then be encoded...

Many people with expensive TVs don't care for bulky receivers or busy surround sound speakers. That's why soundbars have taken over the world. You'll continue to see higher end audio as part of...

Exactly! I have a 65" C8 for the last 2 years and I still about 10 feet from my screen. I have 20/20 vision and am hard pressed to pick out extra detail between 1080P and 4K at times. Forget about it...

It was a toss up between the Sonos ARC and the LG SN11RG. Chose the LG for 4 main reasons. 1. Supports DTS audio 2. Current special of $400 off if combined with tv. 3. Reviews have been excellent....

Ever seen an OLED tv? Apparently not or you wouldn't have said what you said. 8k means nothing if the tv sucks.

No surprise. The TV usually has the best video decoder.

Not everyone has a “real viewing environment” hence why the substantially brighter high end QLED TVs might be a better choice for some.

Yes! I have been doing some digging on that - Caveat all this is an amateurs understanding and may be wrong... The difference between 8bit and 10 bit in this scenario (4:2:2 vs 4:4:4 @4k/120) is...

You can plug HDMI 2.1 devices directly into the TV and then use the eARC HDMI ports to return the audio to your AVR. That way you'll have capacity for a lot more 2.1 devices.

I gotcha. So anything 2.1 could plug into the TV and anything less like the SheildTV could just go to the receiver. I guess my only concern would be watching DVDs and BluRays on the PS5 going...

I don't know about that. The 2019 C9 is $3599 through Greentoe right now. Even if you can get the GCs as an immediate discount, I think I'd still do the C9 for $3599 than the CX for $4057.

An LG C9 or B9 for $3200 or a LG CX9 $4500. Sorry but the CX series is NOT $1300 better than either pf these TV's. Unless you have money to burn, if you do than why are you on slickdeals?

The name OLED is a real term. QLED is a marketing term and the word "Quantum" was chosen by Samsung knowing it would justify the misleading use of the visually similar QLED acronym.

You do realize the guy was just trolling. Only a total idiot buys a bleeding edge 8K with crappy QLED screen tech since there won't be 8K content for a long time. And by the time 8K content...

Yes, but any native apps that output DTS on the TV outputting back to the AVR over eARC won't output more than stereo IIRC. You'll need an Apple TV/Nvidia Shield type box for that if I've understood...

There's science to the contrary. 8K LCDs backlights will "flood" pixels due to limited local dimming zones. This will cause pixels to literally disappear whereas OLED pixels will not due to being...
