I think they might have changed this, as I tried to configure one with a better screen (as I've done before when shopping) and I couldn't configure a 15" with the better screen anymore

They both have similar 250nits screen. 15" is not good for using in the tablet mode.

It uses a standard TB3 port and any external GPU dock with TB3 will work. There is np such compatibility thing I've heard of.
