My Lenovo ideapad 330S has the worst built in wifi that constantly dropped connection and couldn't find wifi. New drivers didn't help, so I bought one of these instead of returning it.

I'll bite for $8 for the N300. The Realtek 8192CU has a poor history but it's one of the few chipsets that seem to work with handhelds like the RG350 (with a usb c->a adapter).

Weather or not a computer has WiFi capabilities is going to depend on the motherboard. You can add a WiFi adapter in a pci slot or you can pick this up and plug it in. That is why this exist.
