Yes. And Intel has Flex memory so 4GBx2 ends up dual channel while the rest of the DIMM is single channel. Don't ask how that works. I still haven't seen a good explanation. Also to the other person,...

In addition to what others have mentioned: Parts placement and soldering is usually automated, so soldering RAM on a motherboard is basically free. Someone or something has to insert RAM modules...

That would be fine for your parents. Screen size, IPS panel and 300 nit brightness is good. Plus you get an electronic hard drive as compared to the slower old fashioned mechanical hard drive.
