Well like was said earlier they are pretty much a like besides the PCIe 4.0 difference. As for the two boards you mentioned the 550 is more expensive cause of this.

If you are running Linux or considering it in the future, Asus motherboards (at least AMD versions) aren't well supported. I've never been able to get suspend or hibernate to work using any Linux...

I'm confused though because it isn't cheaper.
For example the Asus Tuf Plus b550 is $160. The Tuf Plus x570 is $165.

Since I am looking at both chipsets for my next build, the point is the 550 removes the general purposes lanes of PCIe 4.0 which the X570 has. That means that only GFX cards can run on 4.0 by default...

These lines of motherboards make absolutely no sense to me. The x570 variants of these same boards are virtually identical in price, sometimes cheaper.. and clearly better. The fk is the point?
