Depends on your uses. I like 4K for some editing and work on a 14" (or smaller). The pixel density is greater on a phone than a 4k 14" and I also prefer that too.
Battery life is affected but...

I would choose the $863 with 4K display plus i7. Downgrading to 1080p+i5+$240 more is definitely not a good option unless you really want the extra 4-hour battery life.

Totally agree - I had to bite on the Mica colored one since the specs were so much better than a comparably equipped iron grey one.
Aside from that, Iron grey would have been been my preference!
