cant recommend this - it barely cuts a 2x4 in half, due to cutting width - i am a fan of ryobi, have a ton of ryobi stuff, but this product is terrible unless you are cutting small trim or anything...

I'm aware of this. When Ryobi started to switch to their green colors from blue some of their tools were carbon copies of the C3 line. Two that come to mind are the finish nailer and the miter saw. ...

I got this saw as part of a bundle and it's perfectly functional. However, to your question, yes it is small, especially given the arm is fixed. It's great for smaller cuts or if you are just...

I was thinking the same. Maybe it would be good for a secondary saw you could keep tucked away and use for the occasional small cuts without setting up a big one? Or if you don't have to cut anything...

its a coordless tool. its not meant to serve primary duty. basically a chop saw for 2x4s and trim that can also do some mitered edges.

I was that killer deal with all the brushless tools from last (?) year. I just know that because I've been using this saw for at least a year now.

Why wouldn't you just stick with a corded saw for woodworking at home? The main (only?) advantage of this Ryobi saw is it's portability. And it's quiet (and for me it was cheap).

You would have to make a cut, then flip the board to cut the other side. 2x6 would work, and I think you would just barely get through 2x8. Would just need to know the max cutting width, double it,...
