I agree with the Daiwa Samurai. I got a couple 3 years ago. I use them for crappie underneath the docks and they work pretty well especially for the price.

Teach the beginner the proper way and it takes 10 seconds. Overhand knot, piece of tape over the knot, then reel in. Literally takes 10 seconds

Definitely not good for beginners or anyone for that matter. I would not recommend this combo for one reason only and that is the drag system. One click it’s fully locked, one click the other way...
