55 has drastically better ANC. It's the Sony ANC chip so same as the XM1000 (have worn Sony as comparison). Alternatively, just buy both and return the one you don't like.

I do not recommend these. Had two pairs break on my in 1 month. They hard lock and there is no way to reset them except let the battery drain over 2-3 days.
