Received it within 2 days from Indiana. Out of the box, came with wirelessHD transmitter and remote. No scratches or signs of wear and tear. Looked brand new to me. Popped in a Roku stick and went to...

I read wireless will do 4k but is limited to 30fps. Fine for movies bad for gaming.

You're thinking of the non wireless version, 5040UB. This one is 5040UBe. They're identical projectors with the exception of the wireless HDMI feature.

Not much 4k material out to warrant buying a 4k projector at this time imo. My 1080 projector has been going strong a long time, no need to upgrade.

Watching movies at home on a projector is awesome. Pair it with even a decent sound system and you'll honestly never have a strong desire to go to a movie theater.

Pair it with an Nvidia shield 2019, and use the AI 4k upscaling, which is amazing.

All new release movies ? I don't see that. Redbox only has them in limited areas at this time for rental. Maybe in a couple of years but not now. I just watch movies in my theater, not shows nor...

1080p in 2020? And on a huge screen no less? No thanks.

So does 4k actually go over our home Wi-Fi?

Correct and only 10gbps HDMI

5040 would have way better contrast and sharper + motorized lens. 3800 will be brighter and newer. Living rm/media room - 3800 Dedicated HT - 5040

Brighter, way better contrast. Lower perceived resolution/sharpness.

Yea they added 18Gps with the 5050UB, as well as support for HDR10+ & HLG. I just can’t justify the jump for $3,000, from a 5040UB. I may wait another year or two and see if they do a true 4K...

Does it worth with nVidea drivers under Windows 10? I don't have a problem playing from other sources (and it looks fabulous), only from the PC. The PC will not recognize or allow me to set 4k60...

FWIW, I have this and the 1080p upscale is worlds better than the Optoma 1080p I had. The shift (faux 4k) eliminates nearly all of the screen door and the image (again, even 1080 material) is...

No one buying a dedicated HT projector which 5040 is should settle with 2.0 analog out.

Maybe not on cable tv. But otherwise, there's quite a bit available. All new release movies, netflix shows, amazon prime shows, tons of Youtube...you'd be surprised.

Is this considered an upgrade from and better than the Epson Home Cinema 3200/3800 that also showed up on SD recently? The 3200 has "4K PRO-UHD" but the 5040UBe has "4K Enhancement", so I'm confused...

I can't believe they don't accept returns. Isn't that illegal in some states?

My refurb 5040ub arrived today ($1,150). Currently, I'm projecting a 150 inch image directly on the wall. I’m amazed how good it looks already. Can’t wait to see it in it’s full glory with a screen.
