Hey guys. I am looking for 4+ disk-space NAS. Wonder if I should get this or the DS420+? Any suggestions? I won’t be running Plex 4K, it is just a data backup for me.

So why get this over say a old sell server and buy the drives. Would be cheaper, allows for more disks and higher end hardware. Only thing I can come up with is perhaps power efficiency and...

The 6TB is the largest drive with SMR so if you stick to 8TB and above, you are safe. I would be with you on Seagate, if they were to offer a 5400 rpm "quiet" version. Mutliplater 10+TB drives @...

I would stay away from 4TB Reds before they officially launch the "Red Plus" range which will be CMR for sure. Although it is the SMR range that should be called Red "minus", and Red stay what it...

WD is now adding the naming scheme Plus to denote non-smr drives. So it'll be 4gb Red Plus will be a non-smr drive while the 4gb Red will be smr.
