Maybe it's personal preference. Polks are bright sounding to me. Klipsch are even more bright sounding. So if these CB5 aren't as bright, I might actually like them.

What matters in a 5 channel setup is that the L/R and center speakers should sound the SAME (or as similar as possible).
Surround/rear speakers aren't going to be as important to match up. You...

There are many factors including heat, etc. that cause caps to fail. Bulging caps are failed...it's more that the circuit is designed so that a single failed cap isn't likely to cause the system to...

You want the front 3 to be "voice matched". Rears do not need to match the fronts.

Exactly. If they do degrade, I would presume they would do so on a gradual curve. Over the span of ten years I wouldn't notice unless they failed.
I'd be interested to know if they actually do...

I think I'm sold on the z623. They have great reviews and great price point. I've found some with local resellers - $80 sealed in box. I am not too crazy about the look of the speakers - they don't...

For movies/TV watching, the center speaker does majority of the work, so that's where you should spend most of your speaker budget. However, if you also listen to music (in stereo), then the front...

How important are front L/R speakers compared with center channel in a 5.1 setup?
And should front L/R use the same speakers as rear L/R?
