IIRC, expiration dates are relevant to the ratios and potency. Beyond expiration, the rates can go up or down. At 50% off, I wouldn't mind it some of the chemical structure changed slightly.

The iron is probably fine but the "beneficial microbes" are long dead. Though they probably die a few weeks after it gets bagged anyway, if they ever existed in the first place.
