I plan to put it on the concrete floor of my garage to reduce slippage for my treadmill and a weight machine. I don't need anything terribly thick, just grippy. This is perfect.

All rubber has a smell. If that's a problem, get carpet.
Fresh rubber is a lot stronger. If you can open the bag and let it breathe in the garage or better outside for a few weeks, a LOT of that...
