You get more even light coverage with shop lights, but as a fairly inexpensive solution these are better, brighter than a standard A19 bulb and easy for anyone to install.

Well the attic gets hot. But you're not going to be using them for long periods of time in the Attic. Plus it'll be so bright, it'll piss off the spiders.
