Yup, only one that ever broke on me was a Sharp 65" and it lasted just under 2 years. Risk and hassle seem to increase too much to justify, when spending over $400 or $500 - at least for me.

If it's broken out of the box just return it. That's a common thing, no extra warranty needed.
