Wide viewing angle. Which is Dells wacky way of saying IPS. Don't worry it's not a vertical alignment screen but TBH VA screens are given a lot of hate I personally feel they are on par with IPS...

The 8GB part (2x4GB modules) is bad, I agree. It is upgradable though but one has to shell out for example an additional $65(16GB) or $120(32GB) for Crucial modules from Newegg..

Benchmarks put them within a few percentage points if each other. So you'll likely never notice a difference there. The 4500U draws a third of the power of though so battery life would be much better.

I prefer VA panels actually. Pixel response times are now fast enough that there isn't ghosting, and it has much better contrast ratios, so images look less washed out.
