Williams Sonoma is having a sale on their own branded enameled cast iron dutch ovens made by Staub in France. Staub is a great brand, comparable to Le Creuset, so really good quality. Only have...

Not the usual knob handle. But if it’s the same construction with LC or Staub, then this looks like a deal.

Of course you can wash with soap. This is enameled inside and out. But also, even non-enameled cast iron can be washed with soap, and if you're not washing with soap you don't have clean...

I think in general people have come around to realizing that, on a chemical level, soap will not remove the layer of polymerized oil (seasoning) which builds up on cast iron. Mostly because you can...

I guess that depends on what you do in the cast iron and how often you use it. If you cook in it on a daily basis and always do oil-based cooking, yeah, maybe you don't need to use soap but I still...

Good price but not great. Picked up a 5.5qt one from the Nordstrom sale a couple months back and another one about a year ago from Williams Sonoma. Both were about $85
