Seems worth it to me, this is really made by Staub and from a few formum post I found people are very happy w/ these just like their Staubs. If it comes damaged, Chase offers return protection.

For what it's worth my fontignac (made by staub) doesn't have enamel around the rim nor does my 5.5 staub. At this price, it's probably still worth it and if it begins chipping, no problem taking...

You can't season a Staub like uncoated cast iron. The Staub is coated in ceramic and will not build up layers of seasoning.
